Member Projects: Sewing Tea Towels with Mitered Corners
Did you know we have sewing machines at VHS? You too could make this tea towel with fancy pants mitered corners. Here are the instructions for sewing those corners and here is another full tutorial on making a tea towel with mitered corners.
The tea towel itself is made by cutting a giant rectangle out of fabric to the dimensions you wish the final tea towel to be, and then adding a 2 cm seam allowance. The seam is then pressed under with an iron, first 1 cm, and then again 1 cm. Sew around the edge and voila, a tea towel to impress your friends. If you actually ever did the dishes you could also use it to dry stuff. :P
This cotton fabric is from Japan.
