Raspberry Pi intro night – Nov 6, 7:30pm
This upcoming Tuesday evening will be raspberry flavoured!
After receiving dozens of heroic responses to my plea for help on the mailing list, I decided to make this event official. Like all Tuesday nights, VHS will be open to the public for this event. Even if you don’t have a Raspberry Pi, there might be enough to share. (Unfortunately, the only local source I know of, RP Electronics, has run out of stock; they are taking backorders, but they won’t arrive in time for this event)
I, John C, will be bottom-lining this completely non-structured event despite the fact that I’ve never even used a Raspberry Pi before. If you have a Raspberry Pi, please bring it! You may also want to bring along a USB mouse and keyboard, some kind of video display, and a laptop with an SD card reader. We have SD cards coming out the wazoo at VHS, thanks to Stevemopolis and Nokia.
Since my knowledge of the Raspberry Pi ends not far from where it begins, the success of this evening hinges on at least one person showing up who has any idea what they’re doing (If this is you, please come down and share your knowledge!). In exchange for their expertise, I’ll supply the cold beverages to anyone who’s teaching. To sweeten the deal even more, I will also bring raspberry pie to share with all of the participants of this event.
What happens?
We’re going to attempt to learn us some Raspberry Pi.
