Fixhacktion Night: Apple Products Repair – Monday, July 8th, 7:30PM

Come hang with us on July 8 for the first night of a new fixers series. Hack together a fix for your apple product! There will be a live demo of apple repairs and lots of help on deck to get you going. Want to replace your macbook HDD with an SSD? Cracked iPhone screen? Or is your apple product just plain not working? Bring it in!

Some spare parts will be available on a first-come, first serve basis. But if you have a specific repair in mind and you know what part you need please bring it along. The Mac Market on west 4th is a decent resource for some things and iFixit is good for out-of-warranty apple parts. If it turns out that the part you need isn’t available or you run out of time we hope that you will leave with the confidence to repair it yourself!

Join us for a night of fixing! This is a night of socializing, having fun hacking and fixing your apple stuff.

This is a hybrid theme night/workshop so instruction will be limited to the live demo. Demo(s) will either be an iMac or macbook pro depending on what you folks bring in and time permitting. However, we will be making use of online resources such as iFixit and help will be available.

WHO CAN COME
Everyone is welcome! You don’t have to be a member. No experience is necessary.

WHAT TO BRING
There will be some tools available but if you have it you could bring in:

  • Precision tool kit, the common drivers but a T6 torx screwdriver is one that doesn’t come in most kits that you may need.
  • Apple parts that you may need. Some parts will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Try The Mac Market or iFixit if there’s a part that you know you will need.
  • Eagerness!
